چکیده
Low-grade metamorphic rock (LMR) is a kind of stone that widely distributed in China. The alkali activity strictly prevents its application conventional concrete. This paper evaluates the possibility using LMR aggregate cement-stabilized pavement base (CSPB). compressive strength CSPB prepared with and limestone aggregates at various curing conditions was measured. Expansion rates were determined via accelerated simulation tests to assess reactivity LMR, followed by microscopic analysis. Finally, evaluated from economic viewpoint. Results indicate specimens have similar each content cement, regardless conditions. expansion all lower than 0.1%, indicating absence an AAR, which further validated AAR product observations. It inferred analysis 70.9% cost can be achieved replacement aggregate. demonstrates technical, environmental benefits endow wide market potential as CSPB.

Characterization of Cement Stabilized Pavement Layers with Ultrasound Testing
Original scientific papers Performance of ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) in hydraulically bound mixtures is examined as a non-destructive testing, in order to estimate its potential for pavement material characterization. Test results show that an increase in cement content results in an increase in UPV values. Increase in steel slag aggregate content results in a decrease in UPV values. Analy...

Due to economical and environmental issues, utilization of mineral wastes, e.g. iron ore mine tailing (IOMT), as road materials can be recommended as a sustainable alternative. In the present study, mechanical properties, as well as resistance to freezing and thawing cycles (F-T) of low plasticity clay soil stabilized with different percentages of Portland cement (0, 6, 9, 12 and 15%) and diffe...
متن کاملDurability of Cementitiously Stabilized Aggregate Bases for Pavement Application
Variations in environmental conditions have been recognized by pavements engineers as a major factor affecting pavement performance. These variations resulting from freeze-thaw (F-T) or wet-dry (W-D) actions can significantly affect the engineering properties of pavement material. In this study, the effect of W-D and F-T cycles, on the resilient modulus (Mr) of stabilized aggregate bases is exa...
